Play Day Volunteers

Play Day: Wednesday 10th September 2025

Join us for a day of PLAY at Aberdeen Art Gallery.

We’re hosting hands-on activities for children aged 2-5 and their grown-ups! Come along and create, play and be curious together.


*Family Workshop & Event Support Roles:


-Process Art & Loose Parts Play
• Volunteers will be supporting AAGM staff.
• Welcoming families and introducing the activities.
• Supporting families to create and play.
• Helping to manage visitor numbers and queue for spaces in the Learning Space.
• Keeping count of visitors participating in the activity.
• Ensuring that craft and play areas are kept tidy, organised and bin scrap materials.
• Helping to setup materials before a session.
• Helping to clear away all materials at the end of the session.


-Bookbug & Music Bus
• Volunteers will be supporting external facilitators.
• Directing visitors to the activity location.
• Checking names off booking list.
• Accompany Music Bus facilitator on Play Tour: help with carrying a bag of props and handing out resources to children.
• Additionally - help with cleaning, tiding away and setting out process art and loose parts materials between sessions.


When responding please state what roles you are interested in, what time(s) you are available to volunteer from below. As well details of any relevant skills, knowledge or experience suitable to this role:
• Book Bug & Music Bus role, 11am-2pm
• Process Art & Loose Parts Play full day, 10am -4pm
• Process Art only, Half Day AM, 10am -1pm
• Loose Parts Play only, Half Day PM, 1pm-4pm
