Shop Support Volunteer

The Toll Community Centre is a volunteer- led community space in Burntisland, supporting children, families and older people with youth clubs, activities and events. Their Hub on the High Street acts as both a food pantry as well as a charity shop, fostering connection and community

The Centre is looking for volunteers for their charity shop to support the back of house operations (especially clothing and soft toys) for display.

This role involves steam cleaning and quality checking donations so they’re ready for sale.

Key tasks include:

-Using a steamer to clean and prepare donated clothes and soft toys

-Checking items for quality and safety before they go onto the shop floor

-Helping sort donations into categories e.g. women’s, men’s, children’s and homeware

-Ensuring all items are presented clean and ready for sale

-Keeping the hub area clean and organised

  • Informing staff if items appear unsafe or unsuitable for sale

Experience required

You don’t need lots of experience to help out, we’re just looking for people who are friendly, reliable and happy to be part of a team. A good eye for detail when sorting and preparing donations is important. Training and support will be given, so enthusiasm and a positive attitude matter more than experience!
