The Croft is looking for Foodbank supporters to help with food deliveries on Mondays from 10:30am to 2:00pm. Join us to make a real difference in your community!

Mondays, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Make a real difference supporting families affected by imprisonment! As a foodbank helper, you'll gain valuable practical skills in organisation, teamwork, and customer service within a supportive, community-focused environment.

Your Role Will Involve:


Helping bring in deliveries
Making up food bags
Stocking shelves
Cleaning the storage cupboard and fridges
Assisting staff

We are based at The Croft at Barlinnie Prison and operate in a completely non-judgemental environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop experience that's relevant, valuable, and will significantly enhance your CV. You'll be making a meaningful contribution whilst gaining skills in a supportive and friendly team.

Experience required

No prior skills are required, as full training will be provided along with ongoing support. Volunteers just need a willingness to help, a non-judgemental attitude, and to be physically fit.

Travel details

By Car:
Take exit 12 for Stepps and Riddrie. At Riddrie library, turn onto Teith Street, then left onto Smithycroft Road, and take the first right onto Lee Avenue, where the prison is located.
By Bus:
The most frequent buses to Barlinnie are 38, 38A, and 38C, operated by First Glasgow. These services run from Eastwood Toll through to Garthamlock/The Fort, passing both Queen Street and Central Stations in Glasgow City Centre—making them convenient for visitors using the rail network.
