Chair of the Board of Trustees

Aberdeen Science Centre is a leading visitor attraction dedicated to inspiring a lifelong interest in science. Located near Aberdeen’s beachfront, we create engaging, educational and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.

We have a fantatsic opportunity to join our team as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. The Chair of the ASC Board will provide strategic leadership and effective governance to Aberdeen Science Centre. They will ensure the Board fulfils its responsibilities for setting the charity’s strategic direction, safeguarding its financial health and supporting the Chief Executive and staff in delivering the organisation’s mission. The Chair acts as the primary link between the Board and the Chief Executive, champions the Centre externally, and ensures that the Board works effectively as a team, upholding the highest standards of governance.

Commitment: four Board meetings per year [quarterly], plus occasional sub-group contribution and internal and external events.

Minimum age: 16

Frequency & commitment
Commitment: four Board meetings per year [quarterly], plus occasional sub-group contribution and internal and external events. Board meetings are held at Aberdeen Science Centre, 179 Constitution Street, AB24 5TU.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
