Trustee

The Tim Stead Trust are at an exciting point in our evolution. You could be part of the wonderful ongoing story.

Having been phenomenally successful in raising the funds to purchase The Steading, Tim Stead’s incredible ‘A’ Listed Scottish Borders home, The Trust are now moving forward on the mission to preserve the property and archive for future generations to enjoy and marvel at, and to promote the work and beliefs of Tim Stead.

One of our most recent successes was to totally rebuild and replant the living Thyme Roof following successful funding bids, and create a new Archive Store beneath, but there are many and various works still to be tackled from property maintenance, through archive recording and reorganisation to marketing and running events and to promoting the Trust and it’s work. A very recent workshop over 2 days saw 29 volunteers, Trustees and our Director inspect, preserve and repack about 80 of Tim’s sculptures and this engagement and involvement is a great example of how we hope to keep spreading the word.

We now have 2 vacancies on our Trustee Board due to retirements. The Board have a diverse range of skills and experience already, but new ideas and fresh faces are always welcome. Whilst our decisions on applications are based on the best candidates who come forward, we would like to work towards an ideal balance of people and skills on the Board and so would especially welcome interest from female, youth and minority candidates but please come forward whoever you are.

With modern communications, we are not limited to those who can physically attend our meetings and would be pleased to hear from candidates who might be mainly online contributors.

These are voluntary positions.
Previous Board experience is not necessary. We are more interested in your enthusiasm and how you believe that you can help us to preserve and promote the work, beliefs and ideals of Tim Stead. New Trustees will be connected with a “buddy” from the existing Trustees to help them integrate.
