Shop volunteer

Do you have a keen eye for good children’s clothing and toys? Do you enjoy providing good customer experiences? Love working as part of a team? Don’t mind getting your hands dirty for a good cause?

LoveOliver is a children’s cancer charity who provides financial and practical support to families across Scotland who are affected by childhood cancer, and funds vital research. They are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team of volunteers helping to keep the charity shop in Kingdom Shopping Centre, Glenrothes running smoothly.

This role is varied and will see volunteers receiving donations; sorting and cleaning items ready for selling; working on the shop floor behind the till and ensuring that shelves are fully stocked. The organisation are happy to accommodate your availability, whether you can offer half a day, a full day, once a week or more. Please get in touch to find out more.


Experience required

Essential: Be able to work and as part of a team; willingness to follow instructions; committed; good communication skills; willingness to complete practical tasks such as cleaning and steaming items

Advantageous: previous charity / retail experience; experience successfully selling on Ebay / Vinted

LoveOliver Charity Shop is based in Kingdom Shopping Centre, Glenrothes

Travel expenses

Reasonable travel expenses will be paid upon receipt

Support
Training details

Volunteers will receive an induction manual and shadow other volunteers / staff during their trial period. At the end of the trial period they will be invited for a review to discuss if they wish to continue. Volunteers will then have access to ongoing training such as fire training; health and safety etc
