Creative Workshop Volunteer

Creative Hangout is a grassroots arts organisation committed to opening creative opportunities for children and young people in local communities. We believe that every child deserves to learn about art in a fun, safe and child-led environment.

Volunteering with Creative Hangouts is more than just helping out—it's about becoming part of a dynamic, inclusive team that nurtures creativity, play and child-led expression. Our volunteers support the delivery of visual arts workshops that are fun, exploratory and grounded in the needs and interests of the children who attend. Whether you’re an artist, student, pupil, teacher-in-training, career changer or simply someone who wants to give back, you’ll receive shadowing opportunities, informal training and on-going support to help you grow in confidence, creativity and communication skills. There is also the opportunity to run your own workshop with support and supervision! You will also join a supportive network of artists and creatives who care deeply about young people’s access to the arts and making a real impact in the community. Together, we can create a safe and happy environment where children and volunteers can thrive.

What you can gain from volunteering with Creative Hangouts:

• Gain valuable skills such as teamwork, workshop delivery, and communication
• Receive support at every stage: from shadowing experienced artists to informal training, regular feedback and the opportunity to explore your own goals and strengths within a creative environment
