Trustee Chairperson

Movement Park is a charity that uses the power of movement, sport, and physical activity to improve lives and strengthen communities. Based in Glasgow, we create opportunities for all ages and backgrounds to engage in movement in fun, innovative, and inclusive
ways. With exciting projects on the horizon in Glasgow, Dundee, and Edinburgh, the expansion of Movement Park marks a pivotal moment in our growth.

To support this, we are seeking a new Chairperson to join our board who can help guide our future and ensure we continue to thrive as a valued community resource.

Key responsibilities
Lead the Board in setting strategy and vision.
Ensure effective governance and board performance.
Work closely with the chief executive to provide guidance and oversight.
Represent Movement Park externally to partners, funders, and stakeholders.
Facilitate inclusive discussions and ensure all voices are heard.
Support succession planning and trustee development.


Commitment:
This is a voluntary role with a commitment of approximately 6 board meetings a year.


Remuneration:
This is a voluntary position, although reasonable travelling expenses can be refunded.

Experience required

Experience chairing boards, committees, or senior leadership groups.

Travel details

Board meetings are a mix of in person and over zoom. When in person the meetings

Travel expenses

Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Restrictions

PVG certificate is required but Movement Park will facilitate this.
