Board member

YFW operates across three strands:
1. YFW Debt Guidance – providing clear, trauma-informed money and debt support.
2. YFW Workshops – delivering training and education on financial wellbeing for individuals and partner organisations.
3. YFW Tech – developing ethical, AI-driven tools for the advice and wellbeing sector, such as our AI Debt Letter Scanner.
Our approach goes beyond traditional money advice. We look at how financial stress affects health, relationships, and communities, and we work to reduce those wider harms. YFW is currently in its early growth stage, developing pilot projects, partnerships, and a strong governance structure to support long-term sustainability.

Board Member Role
We are looking to recruit volunteer board members who can help guide and strengthen YFW as we grow. Board members will play a key role in shaping strategy, ensuring good governance, and supporting our social mission.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Technology or AI development
• Governance, compliance, or social enterprise leadership
• Funding, investment, or third sector finance
• Data ethics, digital inclusion, or public-sector innovation
Board members are expected to:
• Attend quarterly board meetings (remote)
• Contribute their expertise to help guide strategy and decision-making
• Act as ambassadors for YFW, helping us connect with partners and funders
• Uphold YFW’s values of empathy, integrity, and social justice
We welcome people with lived experience of financial hardship, community work, or the advice sector, as well as those from under-represented backgrounds.
