Sports Advisor

We are the culture sport and leisure trust for the county of Angus. We are ambitious and aim to provide the best services for our communities as an enthusiastic, customer-focused and forward-looking organisation.

Suggested Activities:
-Daily operational tasks in the centre, this includes the setup of fitness classes to making sure the gym and fitness suites are kept to highest standard when being used by customers.

-Customer Services - helping staff in the centre with customer enquiries to supporting staff on gym inductions and tours of the centre.
-Part of the operations team that are ensuring the centre is looking presentable and clean to customers.


The sports advisor role is also a good entry level and support through the operational role that SA's have supporting and following roles at the centres:



  • Physical Activity Programmes which run in centres

  • Operation Supervisor role

  • Community Sports Hub Co-ordinator

  • Football Co-ordinator

  • Customer Advisor

  • Fitness Instructors and coach's


Requirements:
-A friendly outgoing personality, the ability to use your initiative, work as part of a team.
-Experience of working in a sports centre or sports environment, a current first aid, level 2 gym instructors and UKCC level 1 teaching aquatics or other governing body qualifications are all desirable.



  • You do not need to hold a current RLSS pool lifeguard qualification -This is a qualification that would be needed to secure paid work as a sports advisor at an AA centre.


What will the volunteer gain:
Insight to the role of the Sports Advisor and the task undertaken to provide excellent customer service in a busy sports environment. Increase of health and safety including life guarding. Work experience will help with any future recruitment opportunities with the sports and leisure industry.
