Group Fitness Assistant Coach

Suggested Activities:


  • Welcome, participants into the class: finding out if they have any injuries and if they have previous experience of the class

  • Assist the Group Fitness Instructor in Setting up the area they are using (this may involve moving equipment or setting up activities throughout the class)

  • Help participants with equipment as required e.g., setting up benches, lifting weights etc.

  • Engage with participants following sessions and gather feedback from the class

  • Provide feedback on the running of the class

  • Time spent on placement will be participating in the class, assisting with set up of class, delivery of certain aspects of class, warm up / cool down.


Requirements


  • Be willing to learn the choreography or workout routines to support activity delivery further into the placement.

  • Be able to interact and converse with people of all ages and backgrounds

  • Possess good listening and communication skills

  • Have a basic understanding of the benefits physical activity has in relation to good mental and physical health and how it can support further positive lifestyle change.

  • Have an interest in working in a group fitness setting

  • Understand the importance of confidentially

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Awareness of own limitations and boundaries

  • Good timekeeping and flexibility around working pattern

  • Ability to learn choreography / warm up / cool down as per Group Fitness instructor

  • Knowledge inro the running of a fitness class and the preparation required for routines and playlist for the class
