Practical Volunteer

Are you someone who loves rolling up your sleeves and making a real difference? Fife Gingerbread are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their practical Volunteering team with support families to regain confidence, motivation, and pride in their homes. By given just a little of your time, you can help a parent turn a house back into a home.

Volunteers work alongside families to tackle practical task such as painting and decorating, cleaning, decluttering, and gardening. These small acts of support can have a huge impact, helping families feel more settled, empowered, and hopeful.
No special skills are required; just kindness, reliability, and a willingness to get stuck in. Whether you enjoy DIY, love organising, or have green fingers, there's a place for you on the team.

Training details

New Volunteers are introduced to our values, given an overview of the role, responsibilities and the families we supports. They will receive guidance on safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, equality and inclusion, and boundaries. On going training is offered including refreshers. Volunteers are offered supervision, peer support and shadowing opportunities.
