About The No.1 Befriending Agency
The No.1 Befriending Agency is a Glasgow-based charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and social isolation among older people. Through one-to-one befriending, community engagement, and wellbeing-focused initiatives, we connect individuals who feel alone with trained volunteers who offer conversation, companionship, and meaningful social contact. Our work ensures that older adults feel valued, heard, and part of their local community. By joining our mission as a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll help us reach even more people who deserve connection, friendship, and hope.
Description
Are you ready to make a tangible impact on the lives of others? Do you believe in the power of community and connection? We are urgently seeking enthusiastic individuals to volunteer in fundraising and help us build the connections that end loneliness and isolation.
This isn't just about raising money; it's about building bridges and fostering genuine relationships within our community. As a Fundraising Volunteer, you'll be instrumental in expanding our reach and ensuring our vital services continue to thrive.
Your role could involve:
Organising engaging community events that bring people together.
Connecting with local businesses and community groups to build partnerships.
Crafting compelling stories to inspire support for our mission.
Supporting online campaigns and outreach initiatives.
Assisting with fundraising and grant applications.
Your creativity, communication skills, and passion will shine as you share our vision and introduce new people to our cause. Every connection you help us form and every resource you help us secure directly translates into more befriending support, more community programmes, and more opportunities for people to find friendship and belonging.
You'll be part of a movement to end loneliness and isolation—creating a world where everyone feels valued, seen, and connected. Imagine the profound joy of knowing your efforts are bringing comfort, companionship, and hope to those who need it most.
We welcome individuals with enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, a knack for connecting with people, and a genuine desire to make a difference. No prior fundraising experience is required—just a willingness to learn and a big heart. We provide all the training and support you’ll need to succeed.
Volunteering with us offers far more than giving back. You’ll gain invaluable experience in fundraising, event management, marketing, and community engagement. You’ll expand your professional network, develop transferable skills, and become part of a supportive, passionate team working towards a shared mission. Most importantly, you’ll experience the deep fulfilment of helping build a happier, more connected community.
