Do you have practical skills, your own vehicle and an interest in protecting Scotland's world-leading outdoor access rights?
ScotWays is seeking volunteers based in the Lochaber area to assist with repairing and replacing signposts for paths, many of which are now deteriorating in condition. Tasks vary from attaching replacement signs and waymark discs using a hammer or spanner, to full replacements of signposts including digging post-holes beside roads. Each task can be done flexibly at times that suit you, with remote support from our small staff team.
Experience required
Practical DIY skills, driving, comfort working outside in all weather, basic digital photography, email.
Travel details
Self driving, locations across the Lochaber area.
Travel expenses
Mileage can be reimbursed along with purchase of necessary tools and materials.
Support
Training details
Ad hoc training can be arranged remotely or in person.
Taster
An induction session is available on 14 and/or 15 February in Kinlochleven and/or Fort William. Details will be arranged with prospective volunteers.
