No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our users/community well if we don't have a good committee behind the team. If this sounds like you?... We would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per month.
Someone with spare time is required by the Rockvale Rebound talking newspaper for the blind, in Dumbarton.
The Rockvale rebound provides printed information e.g. local newspapers etc. on audible digital, free to print impaired people i.e.. blind, deaf-blind & partially sighted people in West Dunbartonshire. The service is only provided thanks to the invaluable help of our team of volunteers.
Duties: to keep a record and set of basic financial transactions/accounts i.e. keep a record of all incoming finance and payment of accounts/invoices received. Reimburse any expenses incurred by volunteers e.g. purchase of newspapers and other printed material to be read to listeners. Attend and present up to date financial figures to the other trustees at committee meetings approximately every 6 weeks – (committee meetings are normally held by telephone conference call). Prepare and submit year-end financial accounts to the office of Scottish charity regulatory authority (OSCR), annually. Assist the other trustees in the preparation and submission of funding applications to grant giving bodies/charities.
We are a small friendly group and any volunteers will be made most welcome and appreciated.

Minimum age: 18
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
