As the cost of living crisis deepens, there is sadly now more demand for our surplus food supply than ever before. Volunteer drivers can help us fight hunger and food waste by distributing food to organisations supporting people in food poverty.
A standard driving licence is all you need to deliver our food once or twice a week to children’s clubs, homeless hostels and refuges across Glasgow and the West of Scotland. We’ve got the vans, we just need you!
About the role
•You will be the vital link between us and the charities, getting the food to where it’s needed
•Dropping off the weekly orders of food at local charities and collecting surplus from local food businesses
•You’ll be the friendly face of FareShare Glasgow and West of Scotland, interacting with the charities, making sure they get the food they need
•Working with other volunteers to load up the van with daily deliveries before you head out
If you are interested, please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone. If you don’t hear back within 5 working days, please contact the organisation using the provided details. Check your junk/spam folder for responses. If there’s still no response, contact Volunteer Glasgow at [email protected].
