Complementary Therapist Volunteer

Are you a qualified complementary therapist? Join us to help provide comfort and support to people affected by cancer using your skills, knowledge and experience. Together we can be right there for people with cancer. You will volunteer in a safe, welcoming space where people affected by cancer can find comfort, connection and trusted support.
What you will be doing:


  • provide complementary therapy in one or more of the following areas: aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, reiki, indian head massage

  • give a warm welcome, build rapport and trust with each person

  • carry out assessments to tailor treatment's to each person's needs, making sure that the process is clearly explained and informed consent is obtained

  • deliver your treatment options safely and hygienically adhering to your governing body's ethics and code of conduct

  • maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Macmillan Cancer Support policies
    The skills you need:
    Hold a current registration with an accredited professional organisation and be actively working in your area of expertise.
    Have your own insurance.
    Be sensitive and aware of the psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis.
    Have a minimum of two year's therapist experience.
    Preferably have had experience working with people affected by cancer and have a bolt on oncology qualification.

The opportunity takes place at multiple location across South Lanarkshire
North Lanarkshire

Travel expenses

Receive agreed out of pocket expenses up to the value of £5.90 per day reimbursed within our guidelines.
