Volunteer Manager – Paisley Tours Heritage Hub

The Paisley Tours Heritage Hub is a town-centre space where visitors often have their first real conversation about Paisley. The way people are welcomed, supported and informed here plays a key role in how the town is understood and remembered.
We are seeking a Volunteer Manager to coordinate and support volunteers who staff the heritage hub. This role helps ensure the space remains welcoming, well-run and aligned with our values of warmth, accuracy and pride in place.
The Volunteer Manager will recruit, induct and support volunteers, help coordinate rotas, and act as a point of contact during pilot periods. This is a people-focused role, suited to someone who enjoys supporting others and helping a small team feel confident and clear about what’s expected.
You don’t need to be a historian or tourism professional. What matters is your ability to organise, communicate clearly and create a positive environment for volunteers and visitors alike.
Time commitment is flexible and agreed in advance, designed around an initial pilot phase.

Experience required

Strong communication and people skills
Confidence supporting and guiding volunteers
Organisational and planning skills
Calm, approachable manner
Ability to give clear guidance and feedback
Interest in Paisley and community-based work
Reliability and good judgement
