Volunteer at the Zero Waste Yard!

Orkney Zero Waste are seeking individuals over 18 who are passionate about recycling and repurposing waste.
Join us for 1-2 hour slots on Saturdays and Wednesdays from11 AM to 3 PM. Connect with your community and learn best practices for recycling, reuse, and composting.
What could a volunteer gain from the experience:


  • Contributing to an environmental charity.

  • Learning about reuse, recycling and composting.

  • Meeting members of the community and other volunteers.

Experience required


  • Caring about the environment, reuse and recycling.

  • Kind and helpful.

  • Willing to be hands on at the yard.

  • No previous experience necessary.

Support
Training details

A tour of the yard. Shadowing and working with other volunteers and board members to build up awareness, knowledge, hands on experience and confidence.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment
No minimum commitment.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
