Citizen Advocate

What does a Citizen Advocate do?
As a volunteer, you will:
Build a one-to-one, long-term relationship with an advocacy partner
Listen, encourage, and help them express their views and wishes
Stand alongside them to ensure their voice is heard
Promote self-advocacy
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need special qualifications—just:
Empathy, patience, and reliability
Good listening skills
A commitment building a trusting relationship
Confident to speak up for your advocacy partner (where appropriate)
