Volunteer Gardener Opportunity – Herb Garden Support

At Movement in Thyme we believe gardens can heal, connect, and inspire communities. We are currently seeking enthusiastic volunteer gardeners to help care for and grow our herb garden space.
Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply enjoy being outdoors and learning new skills, your time and energy can make a real difference.

What Volunteers Will Help With

  • Planting, watering, and maintaining herbs

  • Weeding and seasonal garden care

  • Harvesting herbs and preparing garden beds

  • Supporting a peaceful, welcoming environment

  • Assisting with occasional community garden activities
     


What We’re Looking For

  • A love of nature and community

  • Reliability and willingness to help

  • No professional gardening experience required

  • Individuals, students, retirees, and groups are all welcome

Time Commitment

Group sessions are on a Monday morning 10-12 with soup in the cafe 12-1pm. Flexible volunteer opportunities are also available throughout the week, but may involve working alone. Whether you can give a few hours occasionally or help regularly, we would love to hear from you.

Experience required

Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For



  • Interest in gardening, herbs, or nature

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions

  • Basic physical ability for light gardening tasks such as watering, weeding, planting, and lifting small garden materials

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Patience, care, and attention to detail

A car is needed to access the site but we may be able to oranise lift shares.
