Youth Forum Member

As an NHS 24 Youth Forum Member you will:
· have regular opportunities to share your views on our work
· be able to influence our strategy
· help us to focus on what matters most to people
· help share information about NHS 24 services within your local community
· be part of a team dedicated to improvement
· be treated as a colleague who actively contributes to NHS 24’s goals through volunteering
Who should apply:


  1. We welcome any young person aged 16 to 26 that is passionate about reducing health inequalities and is interested in shaping the future of NHS 24 services.

  2. NHS 24 is also committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to contribute. We welcome young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, identities, and experiences, including disabled people and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Experience required

We have no required skills or experience for this volunteer opportunity.
Our expectations:
· Available in the evenings
· You commit to attend as many meetings as possible and engage with our work
· Be open and willing to share your opinions and feedback on NHS 24 work in a constructive and helpful way
· Be interested in addressing health inequalities
· You communicate in a timely and professional manner with staff
· Have access to a device with video calling capabilities (e.g. Teams)
· Be willing to have attend meetings with your camera on

Travel expenses reimbursed for attendance to any in-person meetings.

Support
Training details

You will be invited to attend an online induction where you will meet other new applicants for the Youth Forum Member volunteer role. Training is provided through NHS 24, non-role specific online modules.

Taster

You will be invited to attend a meeting as an observer.
