Neil’s Hugs Foundation aims to:1. Support Individuals and Families Affected by Suicide• Assist people in West Lothian, Clackmannanshire, and surrounding areas—and, ultimately, across Scotland—who are affected by the attempted or completed suicide of someone close to them.2. Deliver a Range of Compassionate Services• Provide a Listening Ear service (face-to-face, virtual, or telephone) for those in need of someone to talk to.• Offer confidential 1-to-1 support, delivering practical and emotional help.• Run befriending services, building supportive and reliable relationships for people at risk of social isolation.• Facilitate support groups for people bereaved by suicide, and for those with mild to moderate mental ill health.• Create safe, compassionate spaces for people to meet, share, and remember loved ones.• Organize peer support groups with activities such as arts, crafts, and board games, Gardening fostering connection and recovery.• Support people struggling with their own mental health or as a direct result of someone else’s mental ill health.• Signpost individuals to other relevant support services when appropriate.3. Build Partnerships and Community Connections• Collaborate with local organizations, including West Lothian College, where we hold weekly “Cuppa and Chat” drop-ins for students and staff during term times.• Work alongside other community groups to extend our reach and impact.4. Raise Awareness and Reduce Stigma• Fundraise and deliver awareness campaigns on suicide prevention.• Challenge the stigma surrounding suicide and mental ill health through education and community engagement.5. Empower Volunteers• Rely on the commitment and compassion of our volunteers, whose dedication is central to the delivery and success of our services.
