Fostering Compassion is a ground breaking humane education project for vulnerable children, distinguished by its unique approach. We introduce vulnerable children who have suffered trauma, abuse, neglect and poverty to rescued animals. As they learn the animals’ stories, the children better understand their own circumstances. This often provides a platform for the children to open up about the abuse and neglect they have experienced, encouraging healing and the development of compassion and empathy.
