Haddington Athletic CFC

Haddington Athletic Community Football Club has a clubhouse and 3G Facility, at Whittingehame Drive, Haddington, East Lothian. We are a constituted group and the club is a non-profit making organisation, which is run by volunteers and a full committee.

We lease the 3G facility from East Lothian Council and provide football (coaching & games) for all children under the age of 18 years.

We aim to facilitate and encourage the whole of the community to take part in football activities regardless of their age, ability, gender, background or financial position.

We are an integral part of the community within Haddington and have approximately 450 child members as well as approximately 100 volunteers. We facilitate coaching opportunities for volunteers as well as youths completing their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Not only are the fees for football affordable, we also provide free funded places for families who are on a low income, allowing children to take part with no financial barrier. We also provide regular free ‘taster sessions’ for younger children and girls aged 5-12 who are trying football for the first time.

We work closely with the local schools and provide holiday camps during the school holidays as well as diversionary football sessions on a Saturday night.

We have a Walking Football team, which offers a multitude of health benefits for older people, including staying active and mobile, combating social isolation and encouraging friendships.

We also have an Autistic and Neurodiverse football team, between the age of 10-16 years, promoting inclusion, encouraging social interaction and improving behavioural skills.

We have recently extended our work in the community by introducing a Mental Health Peer Support Group (Haddy Huddle), which is in partnership with the ELC Community Development Officer and Area Partnership and recently we have started ‘Menopause Goals’ education and support sessions.

We actively support local and international initiatives. This includes regular local food drives for the Lammermuir Larder, free winter coats, the boot room (free used football boots), litter picks, Kit for Africa and Scottish Football for Rwanda.

We have achieved the Platinum Quality Mark, the highest level awarded by the Scottish Football Association.
