Befriender

We are looking for Volunteer Befrienders to help support Older People throughout North Ayrshire who are living in their own home. This role requires the following:
• Someone to provide companionship and support by visiting the individual in their own home
• Where possible, accompany older people to lunch clubs, social activities etc. to increase social interaction and encourage the older person to develop new friendships
If you like the idea of working alongside older individuals to prevent isolation then this is the right opportunity for you.

Experience required

Looking for people who have an interest in working with Older Individuals and would like to help older people remain independent within their own homes for longer and help to support them when necessary.

Travel details

Opportunity takes place at the homes of the individuals throughout North Ayrshire. These should be accessible by bus.

Travel expenses

Expenses will be paid on request - proof of bus/train tickets. Mileage will be paid for all travel connected with the project. (Training and Volunteer Work)

Training details

An induction session will be provided to volunteers. The induction session will be followed up by training sessions, disclosure check and on-going training and support sessions thereafter.
