1-2-1 Volunteer Befriender

The role involves providing social connection for elderly people in North East Fife who struggle with loneliness and isolation, helping them build confidence. Loneliness can significantly impact both mental and physical health, but by offering weekly social contact, you can help prevent this. Volunteers and members are matched based on their hobbies, interests and preferences. Visits take place at the member's home at a time that suits both parties. These visits are strictly for companionship, volunteers are not expected to provide home help or qualified care assistance. The volunteer and member may choose to go out for lunch or coffee or simply spend time together in the client’s home.
