Volunteer Community Councillor

We are seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our
council as Volunteer Community Councillors. In this role, you will be instrumental in voicing the
concerns and aspirations of local residents, helping to shape the future of our community
through proactive involvement in local governance and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and actively participate in regular council meetings.
• Represent the interests and concerns of local residents.
• Engage with community members to gather feedback and ideas.
• Collaborate with fellow councillors to develop and implement community projects.
• Liaise with local authorities and organisations to advocate for community needs.
• Contribute to sub-committees and working groups as required.
• Assist in organizing and promoting community events and activities.
• Stay informed about local issues, policies, and developments affecting the community

Experience required

Requirements:
• Strong commitment to serving the community.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Enthusiasm for local issues and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to attend meetings and participate in council activities.
• No prior experience required; training and support will be provided.
• Residency within the Irvine Community Council area is essential (please check

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
