Community Garden Volunteers

Victoria Gardens is a new exciting urban growing/social space located on the edge of Balgay Park. We have exciting plans for the space including a community kitchen and picnic benches.

Now we are looking for volunteers to help us to build a pond, club house, mud kitchen, and sow seeds.

The Garden is open we open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 to 3 pm in winter time and in spring / summer it will be open 5 days a week 10am to 4pm.

Travel expenses

We can cover bus travel expenses. They would keep a receipt and paid by the Manager on site.

Support
Training details

At the start of the session, they will be introduced to the garden, the organisation, its policies. The volunteer will be given opportunities of different roles at the garden. After they commit they will be supported with ongoing training by our on site gardener.

Frequency & commitment
Garden is open 5 days a week. Volunteering can happen any time Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 10am - 3pm or Friday/Saturday 11am - 4pm. Volunteers can be flexible on the role they want to play at the garden and the time commitment they would have. Tea/coffee facilities are available on site.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
