Penicuik Storehouse

The Storehouse is a community owned shop and cafe, stocking local and ethically sourced products. We provide a space for local crafters to sell their items, and a community space for local groups.
We are looking for friendly people who would like to help out working on the till in our shop. Volunteers would need to have basic numeracy skills for this role. Full training is provided. Shop till shifts are typically 3 hours long. We are proud to be an inclusive organisation.
Main shop tasks include:
· Serving customers at the till
· Taking café orders
· Keeping the shop and cafe clean and tidy
· Restocking shelves, fridges and fresh product
Experience required
A positive attitude towards creating a friendly environment and to helping people.

Bus routes 37, 47, 101, 102, 140, X62
Travel expenses
We pay daily mileage to volunteers.
Support
Training details
Volunteers don’t need any prior experience as we will provide full training. Volunteers are supported on an ongoing basis through existing members of staff and a dedicated Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Minimum age: 13
Availability
Frequency & commitment
3 hours per week
Volunteers (aged 13-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
