Session Supporter (Glenrothes)

Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland are looking for someone passionate about sport who enjoys talking with older adults and will bring their enthusiasm into the club session. The Session Supporter works alongside the Session Facilitator to enable the smooth running of the club session and will help to set up the venue for the club as well as welcoming members as they arrive. The clubs support older people who may have a physical disability and/or memory problems. Some of the members are isolated; they just enjoy popping in for a chat and being able to reminisce about their favourite sports.

Experience required

Volunteers should have an ability to communicate well with others and be able to support club members who have memory or physical health problems. The most important skill is to be able to listen and to encourage participants to engage and get involved in the discussion.

The Session Supporter helps the Session Facilitator to set up and run the club and is part of a team of 3-4 volunteers who collaborate to provide our members with a positive and enriching experience.
