Community Events Volunteer

Our Transform project provides young volunteers (15-24 years old) with fully supported and supervised group volunteering opportunities. One of these opportunities is our youth led community events project. We are looking for volunteers who would like to help plan, organise and host an event in our community garden in Dalkeith Country Park. This is an ongoing opportunity with event planning scheduled to begin in February for an Easter event, May for a summer event and October for a Christmas event. Please get in touch to discuss your availability.

This is the perfect opportunity to see a project through from planning to delivery. You will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of planning, organising and promoting events. You will join a small, weekly steering group to help organise the event. You will have the opportunity to learn about teamwork, planning, promoting events and volunteering with the public. Volunteers will host an Easter, Summer or Winter event in the community garden.

This is a fully supported volunteering opportunity. You will have weekly contact with the youth coordinator, and you will be given the opportunity to review your progress and your role on a regular basis. We will provide a mid way progress review to see how you are getting on and so you can provide us with any feedback.

Experience required

You don’t need any special skills or experience just commitment and enthusiasm.
