Grangemouth Old People's Welfare
- VO94334
Talbot House is a Day Centre running lunch clubs on a Tuesday & Thursday.
The objective of our community organisation is to promote and assist the welfare of senior citizens within the burgh of Grangemouth, encouraging the involvement of the wider community.
We combat loneliness by providing facilities for our community elderly to be socially interactive.
We are currently recruiting volunteers to cook for our lunch clubs. Each session will be from 8.30am to 1.30pm, and take place on a Tuesday & Thursday. Volunteers are not expected to commit to both sessions and a rota can be discussed.
Lunches are two course, either soup and main or main and pudding, and all plain type dishes to suit the elderly age group such as soup, stew, mince, pasta and puddings etc.
Food prep can be done the day before or early morning on the day. Ideally we are looking for volunteers with experience of catering for around 30 persons.
Volunteers must be reliable and willing to work with our elderly clients.
The lunch club closes for 2 weeks during summer and also over the festive period.
