We are looking for a friendly person to volunteer in our busy community café called The Meeting Place. As a volunteer your duty is to provide a warm welcome to all visitors. You will assist with taking food orders, ensuring visitors feel welcome, engaging with customers, assisting the kitchen team with clearing tables, keeping kitchen area clean, making tea and coffee and serving food.
Welcoming and friendly manner, commitment to ensuring cleaning and hygiene measures are always maintained, work well within a team and willingness to help colleagues reliable and willingness to learn.

Training details
Volunteers will go through a 4 week induction period where they will receive one to one training and a volunteer pack with lots of useful information including role description and the relevant policies and procedures. After the end of the 4 weeks we have an informal chat about the volunteers progress and how they feel about volunteering with us. After the chat the volunteer will continue to be supported throughout their time with us.

Frequency & commitment
Hour café is open between 10am to 4pm. We are looking for people to come in from 11am-1pm or 1pm - 4pm or we can work around your availability. This applies to expense payment frequency
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
