Trustees oversee the governance of the organisation. Main tasks are: to set/maintain vision, mission and values of the organisation: develop direction, strategy/planning: ensure the organisation has the structure and resources for its work: establish policies/procedures: establish systems for reporting/monitoring: manage risk: ensure compliance & accountability: oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure reporting of this.

Experience required

Experience of local or national voluntary sector is desirable.
Understanding and supporting the aims of the organisation essential.
Communication skills essential.
Experience of funding desirable.
Experience of community desirable.
Working as part of a team essential.

Travel details

Meetings take place at Craigmillar Literacy Trust, 2B Greendykes Road, Edinburgh, EH16 4DP
Meetings also take place on Zoom.
The office is located near Niddrie Mains Road - which is served by buses 2,30,21 and 14. There is a car park at the office and there is a ramp for access to the building.
