Volunteer Facilitator

Are you passionate about supporting young people? Looking for meaningful volunteer experience? Becoming a volunteer facilitator is perfect for people who want to develop professional experience in youth work, education, social care, or psychology, with flexible hour options available.
The Ruby Boots project is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help children and young people from Armed Forces families navigate their transition to civilian life.
What you'll do:
• Support peer group sessions for children and young people, aged 5-18
• Build positive relationships with young people during a significant life transition
• Help facilitate discussions on important topics like confidence-building, managing change, and creating support networks
• Opportunities to progress and develop experience in leading, training, administration, develop session plans, and more.

Experience required

Perfect for people who:
• Have great communication skills
• Enjoy working with children and young people
• Have experience working/volunteering with children or young people

Travel details

Various locations across Fife. You will be matched as close to your local area as possible.

Travel expenses

Public transport costs reimbursed or mileage at the rate of 45p per mile.

Support
Training details

• Comprehensive training (6 hours total - flexible delivery options), including the NSPCC Safeguarding training.
• Valuable experience in trauma-informed practice
• Regular support and mentoring
