The Driving Force are a small, friendly local charity helping people living with cancer in Bonnybridge and Denny by providing free transport to hospital and free therapies in their own home. As a driver you will take people to hospital appointments and treatment sessions in your own car. It's a great chance to make a real difference to local people in your community.

We are looking for people that live locally within the Denny/Bonnybridge area or within the immediate vicinity.
All training is covered, and there are regular meetings and social events where you can meet other volunteers. Anyone is welcome to join us and give us whatever time they have. It is good fun and very rewarding.

Your new ideas, energy and enthusiasm can make a real difference to cancer sufferers. Volunteering need not interfere with your other commitments, will not leave you out of pocket and will not affect any benefits you receive.

Experience required

You must be a safe and careful driver.
Respect confidentiality, be trustworthy and reliable and a good communicator.
Drivers should be caring and good listeners.

Travel details

In Denny, Bonnybridge and at FV Royal Hospital in Larbert, Glasgow and occasionally Edinburgh.

Travel expenses

Mileage rate 50p/mile
Paid by BACS transfer monthly

Full training is provided and we have detailed written information. Our volunteer coordinators are always available for support.
If ongoing training is required it will be provided.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18
Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have a car with valid MOT and insurance. Live within Denny/Bonnybridge or the immediate vicinity of those areas.
