Retail Driver

CHAS care for children throughout Scotland and they're here for the whole family. Whether at home, in hospital, or visiting their hospices, they give families the care and support they need, when they need it.

CHAS runs a number of charity shops across Scotland, selling donated stock as well as new goods to raise the vital funds required to care for children and their families. You will be volunteering within their retail team, supporting with the transportation of donated goods across our four shops and our local auction.

You will volunteer with a small team to drive their CHAS van and assist with the moving and handling of stock. If you enjoy meeting new people while having a laugh with a great team, this opportunity is for you!

Experience required

It would be great if you have good communication and customer service skills. It is important that you engage well in a team and you share the same values with the organisation: respect, care honesty and accountability. Some of this role requires heavy lifting and moving donations up and down stairs. A basic disclosure is also required for this role, costs of this are covered by CHAS.

Travel details

There is a CHAS van that is available for you to drive. This is parked at Rachel House, the CHAS hospice in Kinross. You will then drive their van around their four shops (two in Kinross and two in Dunfermline) and to the local auction.

Travel expenses

Yes - CHAS reimburses reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred in the course of volunteering, including public transport on submission of receipts/tickets and car (current mileage rate = 45p), every month.
