Heriot's Beavers and Cubs Assistant

The Heriot's Beavers and Cubs groups need help! They meet on a Friday evening between 18:30 and 20:00 at George Heriot's School. Cubs are aged 8-10 and Beavers 6-8 years old. The Assistant Leader will support the operation of the group, in particular the planning and delivery of a balanced programme with the help of the Section Leaders. They will actively support and promote the achievement of badges and awards and support the delivery of a safe, exciting and stimulating balanced programme.

Experience required

No experience or skills necessary except for an enthusiasm for working with young people; a knowledge of Scouting would be beneficial, however training and support will be provided. during the 5 months of Provisional Appointment the relevant "Getting Started" modules must be completed and a Wood Badge must be

No expenses paid, we do pay for uniform items, training and costs associated with the programme.

Training details

Training is offered and is dependent on the level of role. initial training, called Getting Started, is modular and delivered online through e-learning. it can be accessed at a convenient time and place. It takes a total of between 1 to 2 hours to complete the training. A Training Advisor provides training support. In addition to training, other support is also available.
