We are looking for volunteers to be involved in gardening at our garden at Seaview Children’s Unit. Seaview is a residential and respite centre for children and young people with severe needs. Volunteers will work with the gardener to maintain and develop the garden doing weeding, watering, planting, propagation and creative projects. The garden offers a therapeutic space for the children and young people, staff, parents and visitors to Seaview. Gardening experience is not required.
Experience required
No skills or experience are required as you will be working alongside a gardener and other volunteers. Although an interest in learning about gardening and in working as part of a team are helpful.

Support
Training details
Informal training and induction will take place. We do not offer certified training but the opportunity to learn, hands on, about all aspects of gardening throughout the seasons, particularly growing fruit and vegetables and cut flowers. There may be the opportunity to attend relevant courses or conferences.

Minimum age: 16
Availability
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
