Digital Hero

If the last few years has taught us anything, it's that not being online leaves you at a real disadvantage. Every news bulletin and TV programme directs us to websites. The dentist sends an appointment by text. And GPs are offering video consultations. Great opportunities for many, but for others in our communities this isn’t convenient, just confusing.
The online world can seem very scary when you don’t know the right buttons to press…or even how to switch the thing on!
With your support, someone in your neighbourhood will come to realise that digital ‘stuff’ is easier than they ever thought – and they could maybe even pass that knowledge onto someone else who needs it too.
You will spend some time helping people learn how to use smartphones, tablets and (sometimes) computers. You will help them to explore the internet, get signed up to social media and maybe even sign up for a shopping spree!
In return you will have the satisfaction that your support has made all the difference in someone else’s life. Please help us.

You will understand that for everyone's safety you will be asked to go through a PVG (police) check.

WDCVS VISA employability scheme is where volunteers who are actively looking for work can brush up on the skills that employers are looking for, the VISA certificate highlights the skills that the volunteer has achieved in their volunteer role, the certificate can be created and sent to them as a PDF.

Experience required

Are you always on your smartphone? Never far from your tablet or screen? Or maybe you are social media savvy? Then you are just the digital hero we are looking for. It may not seem a lot, but just an hour a week of your time and expertise would make a real difference to someone you haven’t met yet.
You could open up a whole new world for someone, helping them re-connect with family and friends, re-live cherished memories.
