National Helpline Volunteer

Our helpline volunteers play a vital role in supporting people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. You’ll be there for callers who may be struggling to cope, looking for information, or simply needing someone to listen without judgement.
Some callers reach out to refer themselves to our counselling service, and you’ll gently guide them through sharing essential details, including information about who has died, with sensitivity and care. Others call because they need support in the moment: a compassionate voice, a safe space, and someone who will truly hear them.
Volunteers often tell us that being the person a caller chooses to open up to feels like a profound privilege. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference, one conversation at a time.
