Social Media Role for Projects Supporting Refugees and Asylum Seekers

The Inclusive Homework Club was founded in 2018 to create an educational support hub for people with learning difficulties and from disadvantaged backgrounds in mind. In 2022 we began offering courses for adults, with our ESOL & IT Skills for Integration project for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Our team of dedicated volunteers are at the heart of what we do, providing education support and encouragement to children, families, and adults who need it most.

By volunteering for the Inclusive Homework Club, you will gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly you will make a difference in the lives of undersupported children and adults. We are looking for someone who can help with administrative and social media tasks to help ensure we are effectively able to communicate our projects and project stories online. You will be volunteering to assist our Project Coordinators. You will assist in the creation of infographics and digital stories about our projects and service users and a monthly newsletter to send to service users, stakeholders, and other interested parties. You will also help by taking photographs of project activities, undertaking interviews, and helping to collect survey data when needed.

Days/Times: We are looking for help on Mondays from 2-6pm, though we may at times ask if you can come in on a Tuesday or Wednesday to take photos or conduct interviews.

Location: Regular Monday volunteering will take place at Kinning Park Complex, 43 Cornwall St, G41 1BA, though when requested to help on a Wednesday, we also utilise Clyde Community Hall, 41 Whitefield Rd, G51 2YB.

Start Date: Once you have indicated your interest, we will reach out to have a brief chat with you. The next steps are then to have a taster session. Once that is complete, you will need to get PVG checked. If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the Project Coordinator by email or phone. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the Project Coordinator, Carly at carly@inclusivehwclub.org.uk. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow at info@volunteerglasgow.org.
