Volunteer Group Coordinator

We are looking for Volunteers for our MS Borders Group for the following:-
MS Borders Group Co-ordinator - We are looking for a future Group Co-ordinator who has an interest directly or indirectly in MS to lead our Co-ordinating team to help in providing the best possible support for people affected by MS in the Central Borders. Our group is a friendly and very active group providing therapies, grants, social and information events with great fundraising support from the wider community. There will be an opportunity to work with the present Group Co-ordinator before she retires in September.
Role Description
Group Co-ordinator is the lead person of the Co-ordinating Team who make group decisions in the best interests of people affected by MS and they would have an overview of all the group activities, fundraising, therapies, grants, finances and campaigns. They would also be responsible to ensure that all the Service Level Agreements are up to date for all the therapies. They would also work closely with the Treasurer and other members of the group and be available for monthly meetings. They would shadow the existing local Group Coordinator until September 2026, when she retires ( but will be available to support if necessary afterwards).
People affected by MS are an integral part of our volunteers and are welcome to apply for any of the above roles.

Experience required

Group Co-ordinator - ability to lead and energise the Co-ordinating team of people to provide support and services
for people with MS. Innovative ideas particularly on how to support and involve young people in the delivery of
services, support and campaigning.
A knowledge or experience of people affected by MS and the ability to communicate with the wider community
and where necessary health and social care providers.
It is essential for the Co-ordinator to have good communication skills within the group and also the ability to work
closely with the finance Treasurer.
Basic Computer skills would be essential.
We are looking for at least a 2 yr commitment although 3yr would be preferable.
