Tweedbank Early Learners

We are seeking Trustees to join our Board, and in particular someone to take up the role of Secretary. We also have opportunities for a Trustee to lead our Fundraising Team (assisted by our parent group)
A Trustee of Tweedbank Early Learners will work with other trustees, the nursery management team, staff members and volunteers to ensure the charity is carrying out its intended purpose which is to provide the highest quality Early Learning and Childcare for children and families in our local and wider community.
The role of the Board is to safeguard and promote the Vision, Values and Aims of Tweedbank Early Learners (SCIO) to determine the strategy and structure of the charity, and to ensure that it operates in an effective, responsible and accountable manner
We are looking for caring, dynamic and committed individuals, who will help to drive our charity forwards.
Both challenging and rewarding in equal measure, our trustee roles will provide you with an opportunity to support a local charity and really make a difference.
Experience required
The Board of Trustees collectively needs to have skills and experience in the following areas:
• Human Resources, Staff Management, Employment Law
• Finance and Business Administration
• Administration (Secretarial skills)
• Marketing
• Charity fundraising, identifying funding opportunities and submitting grant applications
Previous Charity Board experience is desirable but not as important as a passion for our work, a commitment to supporting our staff at all levels, and a desire to make a positive contribution along with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to make decisions for the good of the charity.
Travel details
We have permanent space within Tweedbank Community Centre, Tweedbank, Galashiels, TD1 3RT
Travel expenses
This is a voluntary appointment and as such is unpaid.
Expenses are not reimbursed presently, consumables such as stationery will be supplied to you, printing etc can be done in the nursery

New trustees will receive a full induction and the opportunity to meet the staff team
Restrictions
Minimum age: 16
Trustees must be PVG checked before they commence their role. If you are not already a member of the PVG scheme, you will need to join or obtain an update (which Tweedbank Early Learners will organise and there will be no cost to Trustees)

Frequency & commitment
