Meaningful Activity Volunteer

By providing company and companionship, volunteers will be enhancing the patient experience and helping to reduce any feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Activities include:
• Chatting and listening to patients.
• Reading to patients.
• Playing board games.
• Reminiscence activities using discussion, books and other resources

Experience required

• Helpful, friendly and caring.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Confidence in a hospital setting.

Travel details

The Lorne and Islands Hospital is accessible by public transport, car and foot.

An 'Expression of Interest' can be organised on enquiry and an induction will be available when the post begins

Restrictions

Minimum age: 16
A PVG certificate is required but this is organised by the volunteer coordinator.
