Schools Volunteer (Falkirk)

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 50+ to volunteer in their local communities. We are looking for people over the age of 50, who are interested in volunteering within Primary Schools in the Falkirk area.

In this role, you may support pupils with reading, writing, or numbers in small groups. Alternatively there are opportunities to support the teacher in the classroom environment during arts and crafts, music, drama or any other activities suggested by the class teacher. You may also support the school with playground monitoring or school trips.

The activities that you carry out are flexible and can be agreed between yourself and the school. Flexible volunteering hours is also available to suit your needs and availability.


Experience required

Good people skills, able to relate to children and young people. Patient, compassionate, flexible and has an interest in supporting children in a school environment.

Travel details

Volunteers are usually placed within a local primary school.

Travel expenses are not available.

Support
Training details

Volunteers will receive an induction to the organisation.
Ongoing training relevant to the role will be provided as well as ongoing support.

Taster

Taster session could be arranged with new volunteers.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 50
Volunteers must be over the age of 50 due to the aims of the organisation.
