Baby Bank Volunteer

At Baby Bank Scotland we support families living in poverty by appealing to the local community to donate items they no longer use for us to pass on to those in need.

We are entirely volunteer run and we are looking to build our team of volunteers so we can sort and process the vast amount of donations we receive more quickly and efficiently; enabling us to help more families.

Last year we gave out:

  • 192 cot/cotbeds/moses baskets

  • 169 prams/buggies

  • 422 packs of nappies
In total we supported 1,469 children to ensure their families had essential equipment and clothes and shoes suitable for the seasons.

The items we provide are mainly donated to us by local people and businesses and are predominately pre-loved items; keeping items in circulation for longer and avoiding going to landfill.

As a volunteer with Baby Bank Scotland you would be:

  • receiving donations: welcoming people donating and accepting donations

  • sorting donations: ensuring that donated items are clean and in working order

  • storing donations: arranging by age or stage of child and storing in our warehouse

  • packing donations: making up packs of clothes or bundling items together for families in preparation for collection

We are open on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 10am-2pm and volunteering can be undertaken any time in these hours.
