Scout Leaders & Helpers

The 9th Dunipace Scout Group is a successful group trying to make things better for any youngster between the ages of 5 and 18 who wishes to join in! We are currently looking to expand and offer more opportunities to young people in the area, and we need more leaders and supporters to do so!

Volunteering with Scouts is a great way to take part in new experiences, meet a lots of friendly people and have fun. The role involves supporting children in various sections (Squirrels/Beavers/Cubs/Scouts/Explorers) during weekly meetings, trips and camps. This can involve:

  • Welcoming young people and families to sessions and events.

  • Making sure everyone’s safe, supported, included and having fun.

  • Helping to plan and lead activities.

  • Getting involved with days out, camps and expeditions.

  • Sharing and learning skills – from coding to cake decorating to canoeing.

  • Celebrating young people’s achievements big and small.

If you'd like to get involved or learn more, then please reach out!

Frequency & commitment
Volunteer timings are flexible and can be arranged to suit the volunteer. We have different groups meeting on different evenings during term time and we sometimes have weekend activities or trips away. We do ask that volunteers commit to approximately two hours a week.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
