The award winning Robert Burns Birthplace Museum is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join its guiding team. Set among 10 acres of the poet's cherished Alloway countryside; the site comprises the famous Burns Cottage where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work, the elegant monument and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum housing the world's most historic collection of his life and works.
Volunteers in this role will have the opportunity to work with professional gardeners to maintain the landscaped gardens around the museum, along with the historic Georgian and Victorian Gardens at the Burns Monument and Cottage.
Main duties include:
General plant care and maintenance, including pruning, watering and deadheading
Ensuring that the landscaped gardens are kept tidy, including maintaining edgings
New plantings, including baskets and pot planting
Light gardening duties including new plantings
Any other general garden maintenance duties as agreed.

Interest in horticulture and gardening
Basic gardening experience
